Enjoy some of the most poignant scenes of DC set in Dawson's Room

"I'll be ri-ight he-ere... I love this movie."

"Why did you have to bring this up anyway?"

"I firmly believe that the misteries of the Universe, the answers to all of life's questions, can be found in a Spielberg film. It's a theory I've been working on. Whenever I have a problem, all I have to do is look to the right Spielberg movie and the answer is revelaed."

"Do you think my mom's sleeping with him?"
"Where did that come from?"
"Something about her bs. They're too soft. Bbback to you, Bbobb."

After the movie scene, Dawson enters his room. He opens the closet door and finds Joey sitting there.
"Oh, what are you doing in there?"
"Hanging with the clothes."

"Jen and I will definitely kiss. Don't you worry. The question is: will your lips ever find Pacey's?"
"Rewrite. I vote for extensive rewrite."
"That's too bad. Because you definitely have kissable lips. (...) You know Joey, you could always close your eyes and think of someone else."

"Explain to me the Crisco." !!!

"These movies aren't real. They're not kissing with their tongues. It's Take 22, the girl's bored, the guy's gay. It's celluloid propaganda."
"Joey, Joey, Joey. You bitter, cyncial, jaded...thing."
"You used to be bitter and cynical too. You were far more interesting."
"But now I choose magic."

Carnal Knowledge... Dawson just videotaped something very uncomfortable for Pacey to handle. He's looking for the tape in Dawson's room.
"Well, I'm not cursed with self awareness like you are, Dawson, but I know enough to know how people see me. I mean, I'm not the guy who gets the girl. The guy who talks about getting the girl, but not the guy who gets her. Enough people say that stuff about you and you start to believe it yourself."
"I'm not quite following you here Pacey."
"I got the girl this time, Dawson."

The hurricane is coming. Joey and Dawson sit in his room while the wind howls outside the windows, so strong it makes fall a framed pic of Spielberg.
"Wo. Well, so much for Twister. What's next?"
"I vote for the Poseidon Adventure."
"Yeah, but Towering Inferno has a higher body count."
"They just burn. In the Poseidon Adventure, the deaths are much more interesting. Everything's upside down."

Dawson just argued with jen about his mom's bertrayal. He then opens the closet door to find Joey hidden there.
"I know what you're going through Dawson. You're struggling to find answers. You want to know why she's cheating but it's all perception Dawson. Let me just offer the one ounce of wisdom I can bring to this table. You know instead of asking why your mother's doing all these horrible things, may I suggest that you get down on your knees and thank God that you have a mother!"
"Joey..."
"Sorry, Dawson, I forgot for a second. This isn't about me."

At the end of the hurricane, peace is restored with Joey. They enter the closet and start reenact the final scenes of "Jaws"
"Sheriff Brody that's a 20 footer! Quiet I think he's come back for his noon feeding."
"Gotta get a shot at this orca's head."
"Smile you son of a bitch!"
Laughters.
"We're gonna need a bigger boat."

Movie night.. with Jen

"Alright, so let me get this straight. Movie night has been reduced to the following: You can't stay if she leaves because your grandmother wouldn't allow it, and you can't stay if she stays because it's awkward."
Jen - "Yeah."
"And you can't stay if she leaves because you feel like you've driven her away, and you can't stay if she's here because it ruins movie night for you."
Joey - "Well put."
"Well, since this is my house and we assume that I can't go anywhere, according to my calculations, that only leaves one option."
Both - "'Night Dawson."

Dawson returns from his wild night. Joey wonders what he has done... it he DID it...

"So did you get everything you went there for?"
"Oh, I was a non-stop sex machine, Joey. You know me."

Dawson sleeps. Joey looks at him.
"Yeah, I can wait."

Joey and Dawson fight playfully on the bed. In this scene you can notice her giving him strange looks when the'yr particularly close. She always feels uncomfortable about Dawson being close to her, and at the end of the episode we find out why ;-)

"They like girls from New York with blonde hair, pouty lips, bony arms, and big boobs. But it goes both ways, Dawson. It goes both ways."
"Jen does not have b-...bony arms."
"She just might choose the guy who has the faster car...or the bigger bicep or...the bigger joystick."

"Dawson, the neighbor girl dumped you. No one died. Get over it."

He doesn't want to be cheered up, though. He just want to feel horrible and lay on the bed. Joey puts on a cassette to make him forget his suffering. Oops, it's one of the cassettes with clips from Dawson's movie, and Jen is there. Dawson groans and closes his eyes.

Joey and Dawson talk about Jen. Dawson still has feeling for her.
"How can you seem to be friends with someone when everytime you look at them you think about how much more you really want?"
"Well, I'm no expert at this, Dawson, but ...I think it can be done." (wink, wink)

Dawson's in his room. Pacey just told him that thing about Joey, and he said at first he felt cool about it. Now he's thinking again.. no, he doesn't. He doesn't want Pacey to kiss Joey. This starts some new thoughts in him...

At the beginning of "Breaking Away", Joey and Dawson meet in his room. This is the first time Dawson actually looks shy when Joey's around.

Dawson and Joey are finally close to kiss. Who's been watching this episode from the beginning is by now sitting at the edge of the chair (or sofa or whatever), eyes wide open, holding his/her breath. Will they or won't they? Joey steps back... aaaww, seems like they won't...

But suddenly and FINALLY, here it is! The kiss between Joey and Dawson. It's the end of the first season, and, I guess, it's what we've all been waiting for. The episode ends with a view of Dawson's Room and the shilouette of the two of them.
Say goodnight, not goodbye...

"You kissed me."
"I know."
"Let's sleep on it..(pause)..not together! I mean, YOU in your bed and me in mine."
"Right."
(...situation gets worse...)
"Okay. Poof! Didn't happen, Dawson. See ya later."
"Don't even think about climbing through that window."
They kiss again.

Dawson awakes in his bed the next morning, and a charming smile lights up his face. Oh yeah, it wasn't a dream: he kissed Joey!

Dawson crashes in his bed while his parents discuss donwstairs... guess who's in his room peeking at Jen's house? Abby Morgan! She tries to seduce him, but...
"No offense Abby, but this isn't going to happen."
"Why? Joey doesn't have to know."
"What?!"
"Alright. Then can we just kiss in front of the window so that Jen can see?"

Full moon shines on Capeside.

"Hey, look up in the sky. What do you see?"
"The moon?"
"No, no, look at the moon. Close your eyes. Now, what do you see? (silence) It's the man. (...) The man in the moon."
After a while, though, Dawson breaks up and starts crying. Joey lovingly hugs him and kisses his forehead.

Andie performs her goofy dance when Dawson's TV plays "Footloose". With that hairdo and those clothes she surely looks cute. No wonder Pacey kisses her at the end of the episode (not in Dawson's Room, but, hey, that's the way things are!). Then she steps in front of the TV and tries to convince them to go to the dance ball.

At the end of the episode, with no-one actually expecting it, Dawson and Joey break up. And where does that happen? Yeah, right: in Dawson's room!

Pacey plays darts in "Uncharted waters". The dart game will run an important role in a scene between Pacey and his father, later in the episode. (this pic looks grainy because the original image is a little smaller...)

"I am still...me. The same whiny, adolescent, big-talking, little-doing loser I was a year ago. (...) Joey is busy finding herself, you've got this whole stable, do-gooder, boyfriend thing happening, Jen is ...not necessarily moving forward but at least she's moving."

Dawson IS willing to get Joey back! Too bad a bunch of alcoholic drinks is on its way to ruin his 16th birthday...

The touching scene at the end of the episode happens in Dawson's Room.
"Because...God, I love you."
"(whispers) I love you, too, Dawson."

Very poetic, we finally see the snow falling in Capeside. Too bad these pics are so small and dark! Try DCVC for a better look at these.
